My work is in response to both an inner motivation and a desire to create and contribute to society something of lasting value. 

I work in acrylics, pastels and oils, but my primary medium is watercolor.  Watercolor continues to be one of my favorite mediums due to its inherent fluidity, transparency and spontaneity.  Although subject matter varies widely, my compositions tend to emphasize strong design and high value contrast.  An increased involvement with color is reflected by the greater intensity and creative shading of my newer works. 

I feel that painting provides a way to capture that which is special in the world, and it also enables me to share those insights with others.
